About Me

My name is Alonso L Ortega, and I am a fifth year undergrad student studying Architecture. Digital Fabrication is my passion as well as Digital Manipulation, and with this I hope to challenge the ways of thinking and theorizing architecture. Most of my work is visual versus what is put in words, since most of my artwork is found to be subjective.

As a student writer, I tend to work with a thought in my head first and further explore the thinking process and brainstorming and creating art. Then after I look at what has been made and start to write what it actually represents. My ideas are embedded with the project but with the implementation of different mediums, my idea evolves into something more profound and visually stimulating.

The following are a few examples with a short passage:

“[…] Algorithms shape our world with good intention […] replacing subjective judgment with objective measurements.”
” […] rooted in the fundamental distortions […] it is reminiscent towards the outlook of the decrypting future.”
“[…] implications of eminent catastrophes and having architecture that preempts and plans for it.”
