Welcome to my ePortfolio! There are many options to choose from so I will lay out what the topics are and where you can find them. Above you will see all the components including About me, all WOVE topics, Reflection Blogs, and a Final conclusion. I suggest taking time to go in order to get an understanding of me as a writer as well as being able to connect all the pieces I have laid out for my readers.

English… A subject that has always been a greater struggle than all the rest. Although this has been the case, I have persevered through the class and managed to make improvements, small ones, but improvements at that. Through this journey of learning, I have encountered my few strengths and greatest weaknesses in this subject and have worked on those time and time again. Some of the main struggles include speaking during a presentation, repetition, lack of analysis, and limited use of academic language. Being able to look at the overview of my English career is helpful in correcting my weaknesses even though it is difficult to break old habits. This semester I have shown to myself how I can change my ways if I truly put the work in and focus on my goals. This, along with a few other points, is the basis of my history in English and how it will shape the future.

To go further in depth there are four main components which are written, oral, visual, and electronic. These all come together to produce a highly sophisticated study and can be used to give an audience a great experience. Reflecting on the written portion I can acknowledge I have not been the best writer but it is something I am trying to improve upon to further my academic career. There are some times during my essay’s that you can see the improvement in a few aspects but many times there is a larger portion that is lacking. This is where I have been thinking and paying more attention to when I am in the process of creating an essay. Oral presentations is one of my worst sectors of English but like the others, it is getting better. In small groups I can get by and communicate well enough to get my points across and sound professional. While on the other hand, presenting in front of the class is a different story. Mentally I am not as nervous as I present myself but something inside won’t let me talk normally to the audience. This year has helped me in overcoming this since there were many presentations given. The visual aspect of a presentation is much higher on the list than the others. I am able to put together a Google Slides/PowerPoint presentation that accurately displays my topics I am covering. The pictures I use can add important information along with some humor depending on the topic to add to the quality of the presentation. Lastly, the electronic portion ties into the visual aspect because the use of the internet to create the presentations. This day in age we can all utilize the internet to help us be creative and put out good content. This is an asset for future generations and makes life a lot easier.

All components of WOVE tie into each other to produce a quality experience in the English community. I along with many others put in an effort to master these topics because of the great benefit you can receive and how they can help you in the future. The posts to follow conveys all the information provided here along with a further explanation of how I am trying to improve everyday.
