Hello all!
My name is Maggie Kraemer and I am junior attending Iowa State University, GO CYCLONES! I am majoring in Microbiology with a minor in Emerging Global Diseases. I am currently involved with an individual research project in one of the biochemical/cell bio. labs on campus, which recently has taken up a majority of my time.
I hold my academics to the highest standard and strive to get the best grades, but still make time for a social life. In my spare time, you can find me outdoors fishing or hiking, catching up on a good book (my favorite author is Danielle Steel), spending time with friends or family, or watching baseball and football (I am a die hard Rockies and Dolphin fan).
Growing up in Colorado I believe my interest in microbiology stemmed from my childhood practically being spent outdoors and my early interest in science that was fostered by my parents. I hope to one day work with infectious diseases doing research with the CDC, maybe get into the field of exobiology with NASA, or spend my life outdoors at far corners of the world involved with environmental microbiology. I still do not have a concrete plan set to achieve my dreams, however, I do plan on living life to the fullest and taking any opportunity that happens to roll my way.
