- Describe additions made to the piece (written, text, visuals, source material, etc.). Highlight a couple examples of these additions and explain their benefit.
– In my visual analysis it was hard for me to make additions. But going back through I thought maybe I could add some editing to make what I was referring to pop out just so others who don’t spot it as soon as I did could see what i was referring to.
- Describe portions you chose to delete. Explain the benefit of those deletions.
– I deleted most of my script because when starting this project I sounded as if I was just repeating myself in every picture I was analyzing.
- Explain what parts you decided required no changes. Give a couple of examples of these and offer support for your decision.
– The little things that I pointed out, like the haircut design on the guys head. No one would ever think that would have anything to do with the description of the sauce but I thought not everyone gets a haircut with a design in it so it must have had to meant something.
– Another thing was my topic. Because again who cares about sauces from McDonald’s? Most people probably think, as long as my nuggets aren’t dry I don’t care how they advertise it.
- If you reorganized or reformatted elements, explain how doing so benefits the piece.
– I organized my visual analysis like how I would like to view it if I watched it, I tried to keep the audience on their feet. Going from an exciting picture to a not so exciting one to another citing one. Just so it wasn’t too exciting at the beginning and boring at the end or too boring at the beginning and you don’t even want to finish watching the video when all the exciting parts are at the end.
- How do you see yourself using what you have learned from this process of revision?
– Using my knowledge from this assignment to look into advertisements and visuals more and not just giving them a quick look and using my first assumption as my answer.
