Hello!
My name is Cole Denner and I am currently a freshman in the Industrial Technology program. I was born and raised in New Hampton, Iowa. I attended New Hampton High School and was involved in National Honor Society, Letterman’s Club, Football, and, Wrestling. In May of 2016, I graduated from New Hampton High School in a class of 70.
In the fall of 2016, I began attending ISU and entered as a Mechanical Engineering major. Halfway through the first semester, I decided that being an ME wasn’t for me, and I transferred to Industrial Technology.
Hobbies/Past Times
In my free/spare time, I am very involved in racing. I grew up around racing and began racing myself at the age of 8. I travel across the nation competing at different events every weekend throughout the spring, summer, and fall. If I could figure out how to make a living racing, I most definitely would!

When I am not racing, working, or doing school work, I also enjoy going fishing, hanging out with friends, farming, and mostly anything outdoors!

Goals
“Giving up on your goal because of one setback is like slashing your other three tires because you got one flat.” -Anonymous. Goals to me are so very important. They are my driving force and give me things to work towards, and they give me a sense of satisfaction and pride when achieving them. I have a few goals for each aspect of my life, and I love sharing them, because it helps me stay accountable for them. My number one goal for my life short term is to graduate college with a high grade point average and to find a job in my field of study close to home. My long term goal for my life is to work towards a high position in a company such as one with a management title. These two goals are driving me through college and are giving me the determination to study and work hard in all of my classes. On my first day of English 250 class, I set goals for myself in this class as well. My short term goal was to overall become a better writer and to sharpen my writing techniques. I am proud to say that I believe this class helped me achieve my short term goal! My long term goal for English 250, is to continue to grow as a writer and hopefully continue to do daily reflections or free writes, as I really enjoy them.
