Reflection #4

Reflection #4

I chose Catt Hall because it represents something I’m very fond of, that is, women’s rights. In my sociology class, there was a brief discussion about Carrie Chapman and that sparked my curiosity to look in further. When presenting the building I chose, I maintained the information short and in a casual manner since the presentation is for college students. It’s always important to have in mind what type of audience you’re going to be presenting to. In my paper I spoke about the importance Catt Hall was to ISU and how important it was to name it after her. I also added personal elements, explaining to my classmates how they too can add their own brick. In my oral presentation, I maintained the audience interested by proposing a question to them about how they could contribute to ISU too. The campus has many resources people can use to express themselves. By asking that question to the audience, they too can question themselves and think about how they can contribute.
