Oral Reflection
I chose this written assignment as my oral piece because of the grade I got after the extensive revisions I made on it and my peer review comments in the whole assignment and how I approved from my first draft. I began my essay with the introduction and kept it short. I also included a clear thesis statement that included all of my main points that I would touch in each paragraph. Since this assignment was critiquing another person’s paper, it was important to state the reason’s why it was wrong or right. I added quotes that supported my main points’ idea and this way created a good argument. Since the paragraphs had good transitions, it was easy for the reader to go through the whole essay. The peer review part of the class was crucial for this paper since they advised me whether the points I made were good enough to have a strong arguments, as well as good quotes. It was important to edit and re read the book to have a good understand as to what the author was saying.
I changed many grammar mistakes, as well as a part of the thesis I believed was not strong enough. These edits improved my overall work. This work demonstrates my abilities as a oral communicator because I incorporated heavily my peer’s ideas, as well as my own to create a better paper and argument. This work made me realize how important peer review is in assignments and how important it is to know the audience you will be writing to.
