My name is Ashley Steen. I’ve lived in Puerto Rico all my life and last year moved to Ames, Iowa. My parents moved to Tampa, Florida. I now call Iowa and Florida my homes. I have a younger brother named Charles. I’ve always wanted to help people whether it’s with advice or just listen. At Iowa State University I’m majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. I don’t not where this major might take me. Whether I’ll be a psychologist, social worker, therapist or anything in between, I know I’ll be impacting the world some way or another. I’ve recently have been studying the law and criminal justice. I’ve been a peer mentor at BOLD for two first year students. Hopefully, after my four years at ISU, I’ll pursue my master’s degree or law school! I’m more than proud to be where I’m from and be able to represent my identity here.
