My name is Ashley Steen. I’ve lived in Puerto Rico all my life and last year moved to Ames, Iowa. My parents moved to Tampa, Florida. I now call Iowa and Florida my home. I have a younger brother named Charles and a Betta fish called “Aguacate” which is Spanish for avocado. I’ve always wanted to help people whether it’s with advice or just listen. At Iowa State University I’m majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. I don’t not where this major might take me. Whether I’ll be a psychologist, social worker, therapist or anything in between, I know I’ll be impacting a person or family at a time. Hopefully, after my four years at ISU, I’ll pursue my master’s degree and beyond! I’m more than proud to be where I’m from and be able to represent my identity here.
